OUR VERDICT

Cal.com is a booking tool with one of the most generous free plans we have seen: one user gets unlimited event types and calendars, plus payments through Stripe and PayPal. It is the best free choice for a one person business that wants clients to book themselves. It is not an AI calendar planner, so look elsewhere if you want your tasks and focus time scheduled for you.

What Cal.com is

Cal.com is a scheduling platform. You create booking pages, share a link or embed the page on your website, and people pick a time that fits your calendar Cal.com site ↗. Cal.com says more than a million people use it Cal.com site ↗.

It connects to Google Calendar, Outlook, Apple Calendar and Zoho Calendar, and to Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and its own Cal Video Cal.com pricing ↗. It also links to Salesforce, HubSpot, Slack, Zapier, Make and more than 100 other apps Cal.com pricing ↗ Cal.com site ↗. A self hosted version is available through its GitHub and Docker pages Cal.com pricing ↗.

Its AI product is Cal.ai, an AI phone agent built into Cal.com Workflows. It can place calls to book meetings, send reminders and follow up after a no show or cancellation, with custom scripts and call transcripts Cal.ai ↗.

What it does well

The free plan is the main draw. One user gets unlimited event types and calendars, email and SMS notifications, a mobile app and browser extension, and Stripe and PayPal payments Cal.com pricing ↗. It also includes two way Salesforce and HubSpot sync and a one click import of your Calendly events Cal.com pricing ↗. Calendly's free plan, by comparison, allows one event type and one calendar Calendly pricing ↗.

It grows with a team. The Teams plan adds shared availability, round robin scheduling, collective event types, routing forms, booking analytics and removal of Cal.com branding Cal.com pricing ↗. Routing forms can send each lead to the right person, and bookings can update Salesforce or HubSpot automatically Cal.com site ↗.

It suits regulated businesses. The Organizations plan lists SOC 2, HIPAA and ISO 27001 compliance, SAML single sign on and US or EU hosting Cal.com pricing ↗. That matters for clinics or firms where appointment details may include health information.

Developers get a public API, embeddable React components and webhooks Cal.com pricing ↗ Cal.com site ↗. The interface supports more than 65 languages Cal.com site ↗.

Users rate it well. Cal.com has a TrustScore of 4.7 out of 5 on Trustpilot from 400 reviews Trustpilot ↗. Reviewers often praise fast, polite support and a clean interface that is easy to set up Trustpilot ↗.

Where it falls short

It is a booking tool first. Cal.com does not plan your tasks, build habits or defend focus time the way an AI planner like Reclaim does Reclaim pricing ↗. If your problem is a week that fills up with meetings, a booking tool alone will not fix it.

Cal.ai costs extra and is metered. Calls cost $0.29 per minute, and the free plan includes no credits, so individuals must buy them Cal.ai ↗. Teams members get 750 credits a month and Organizations members get 1,000, which works out to roughly 25 and 34 call minutes Cal.ai ↗.

Some reviews mention slow replies or template answers from support Trustpilot ↗.

The monthly price is higher than the headline. The $12 and $28 per user figures assume yearly billing Cal.com pricing ↗. Cal.com's home page lists $16 and $37 per user a month for Teams and Organizations Cal.com site ↗. Hands on testing is in progress; we will update this review with results.
