Yes. AI can now draft a polite, specific reply to every new review in seconds, and some tools can post replies automatically. For most small businesses we recommend GatherUp: its $99 a month Small Business plan includes AI written replies, review requests by text and email, and a 14 day free trial.
AI reply drafting is built into most review platforms today, and the main risk, a generic or wrong reply, is easy to manage by approving replies before they post.- Our pickGatherUpStarts at $99/month for 1 location

GatherUp
Best for most single location businesses that want AI replies and more reviews in one simple tool.
GatherUp covers both halves of the review job: getting new reviews and answering them. Every plan includes AI crafted replies, in app review responding and AI tagging of topics and keywords, so you can see what customers praise or complain about GatherUp pricing ↗. It also includes review requests through several feedback options, QR codes and custom links, and it can connect to your CRM or point of sale system to ask for feedback automatically after a visit GatherUp pricing ↗. Saved reply templates are available for the reviews you see again and again GatherUp pricing ↗.
The Small Business plan is $99 a month for one location, with a 14 day free trial GatherUp pricing ↗. If you grow, the Multi Location plan is $60 per location per month for 2 to 10 locations, and paying yearly saves 20 percent GatherUp pricing ↗. A listings add-on that keeps your business details consistent across directories costs $40 per location per month GatherUp pricing ↗. That is a clear, published price, which is not true of several bigger names in this category.
Users rate GatherUp 4.6 out of 5 from 41 reviews on Capterra, praising easy setup, one dashboard for reviews from many sites and alerts when new reviews appear Capterra GatherUp ↗. The complaints are about support getting slower, prices rising over time and a fussy review import process Capterra GatherUp ↗. Hands on testing is in progress; we will update this guide with results.
Why we like it
- AI replies included on every plan
- Review requests by link, QR code and CRM or POS triggers
- Published prices and a 14 day free trial
- Topic tagging shows what customers mention most
Flaws but not dealbreakers
- $99 a month is a lot if you only need replies
- Listings management costs extra
- Some users report slower support lately
Reviewflowz
Best for owners who mainly want every review answered automatically, for less money.
Reviewflowz is the cheapest paid tool we found that fully automates replies. The Pro plan is $45 per location per month billed yearly, for up to three users, with unlimited AI generated replies Reviewflowz pricing ↗. You choose whether replies post automatically or wait for your approval, which is the control you want Reviewflowz pricing ↗. Pro also includes review request campaigns by email, SMS and WhatsApp, though messages are billed on top: $5 per 1,000 emails, $5 per 100 texts, and WhatsApp at Meta's rates Reviewflowz pricing ↗.
It watches reviews beyond Google. The pricing page names Google and Yelp and also mentions App Store and Google Play reviews, and the company lists hundreds of integrations with CRM, booking and practice tools Reviewflowz pricing ↗. The Premium plan, at $70 per location per month yearly, removes the user limit and adds sentiment analysis, review collection forms, scheduled reports to email, Slack or Teams, and API access Reviewflowz pricing ↗.
Two caveats. The page shows only yearly prices, so the monthly billing price is not stated, and it offers a free trial without saying how long it lasts Reviewflowz pricing ↗. We also could not find a meaningful number of independent user reviews, so lean on the trial.
Why we like it
- Unlimited AI replies from $45 per location
- Auto post or approve first, your choice
- Review requests by email, SMS and WhatsApp
- Covers Google, Yelp and app store reviews
Flaws but not dealbreakers

The reviewer is notified when you reply Google help ↗. Google's help page does not list any cost for this Google help ↗.
Google is also testing its own AI replies. A feature called Reply to reviews with AI suggests a reply you can edit and post, and has been seen in the US, Brazil and India Search Engine Land ↗. As of July 2026 it was still limited to select accounts, and Google had not said whether bulk AI replies always require review before they post Location3 ↗. If you do not have it yet, free generators fill the gap: NiceJob's free AI review response generator lets you pick a tone and length, but caps free use at five replies NiceJob free tool ↗.
Why we like it
- Free to reply to every Google review
- Replies show as coming from your business
- Google's own AI suggestions are being tested

You can also generate, regenerate and edit an AI reply yourself Birdeye help ↗. Suggested replies require BirdAI to be turned on and work only for US locations Birdeye help ↗.
It is well liked: an independent roundup reports 4.7 out of 5 on both G2, from 4,233 reviews, and Capterra, from 707 reviews SocialPilot on Birdeye ↗. But pricing is not published; you enter your number of locations and request a quote Birdeye pricing ↗. Who this is for
This guide is for owners of local businesses that live on reviews: restaurants, salons, clinics, contractors, shops and service companies. If you get more than a few reviews a week, or you have reviews sitting unanswered because nobody has time, an AI review tool can clear that backlog and keep it clear.
If you get one or two reviews a month, you probably do not need to pay. Reply by hand in Google Business Profile, which is free, and use a free generator when you are stuck for words Google help ↗ NiceJob free tool ↗. If you run many locations, look at the multi location plans of our picks or at a larger platform such as Birdeye GatherUp pricing ↗ Birdeye pricing ↗.
Why you should trust us
We read every vendor's pricing page, feature pages and help center articles, checked October 9, 2026. We read independent news coverage of Google's own AI reply test and the FTC's rules on reviews, and we read user reviews on Capterra and an independent roundup that compiles G2 and Trustpilot feedback. Every fact links to its source.
We have not yet used these tools on a live business profile. Hands on testing is in progress, and we will update this guide with results. Picks are made on merit; no vendor paid to appear here.
How we picked
We started with review platforms popular with small businesses and newer tools built just for AI replies. We dropped tools that hide all pricing unless they offered something the others could not, and we favored tools that let you approve replies before they post.
Our criteria:
- AI drafts replies for every new review, ideally in your brand voice
- You choose between approve first and automatic posting
- Works with Google at minimum, and ideally Yelp and Facebook
- Also helps you get more reviews with text and email requests
- Published prices and a free trial
- Fair contract terms with no long lock in
- User reviews from real owners
What AI review replies can and can't do today
AI is good at the routine reply. For a five star review that says the staff were friendly, it writes a warm thank you that mentions the detail, in a tone you choose, in seconds. Tools like GatherUp, Reviewflowz and NiceJob can do this for every review, and some can post without you touching it GatherUp pricing ↗ Reviewflowz pricing ↗ NiceJob facts ↗. That alone fixes the most common problem: reviews left unanswered for months.
It is weaker at the hard reply. A one star review about a billing dispute or an injury needs facts the AI does not have, and a careless reply can make things worse or reveal private details. Use rules so that only four and five star reviews are answered automatically, as NiceJob allows, and handle the rest yourself NiceJob free tool ↗. Healthcare businesses should be especially careful never to confirm that a reviewer is a patient.
AI should never write reviews. The FTC's 2024 rule bans fake reviews, including AI generated ones, and bans paying for reviews on the condition that they are positive FTC rule ↗. It also bans suppressing negative reviews through threats or by hiding them while claiming to show all reviews FTC rule ↗. Asking every customer for honest feedback is fine; filtering who gets asked based on how happy they are is risky.
Before you sign up
Set the tool up before you let it post. Feed it your business name, services, sign off and a few replies you have written, so it sounds like you. Then run it in approve first mode for two weeks and read every draft.
Check the contract. Some review platforms sell annual contracts that auto renew; Birdeye's reportedly requires 90 days notice SocialPilot on Birdeye ↗. GatherUp and NiceJob publish monthly prices, and NiceJob says it has no long term contract GatherUp pricing ↗ NiceJob facts ↗.
- Confirm the tool supports the review sites your customers use
- Start in approve first mode before turning on auto replies
- Set rules so low star reviews always go to a person
- Never include private details, such as appointment or health information, in a reply
- Ask all customers for reviews, not only happy ones, to stay within FTC rules
- Check whether you are already in Google's free AI reply test
What to look forward to
The biggest change may come from Google itself. If its AI reply test rolls out widely, basic AI replies to Google reviews will be free for every business owner, and paid tools will need to compete on review requests, other review sites and reporting Search Engine Land ↗ Location3 ↗.
Paid platforms are moving toward AI agents that do more than reply. Birdeye now describes its product as AI coworkers that handle reviews, listings, social media and front desk tasks together Birdeye pricing ↗. We expect more tools to link review replies with follow up texts, offers and booking. We will update this guide as these features ship and as our testing finishes.
The competition
Podium AI EmployeeQuote only (add on to a Podium plan)
Podium collects reviews by text and offers an AI employee called Jerry as an add-on that answers and follows up with customers Podium pricing ↗. Its pricing page lists no prices or trial and does not describe AI review replies, so we could not compare it fairly Podium pricing ↗.
LocaloStarts at $39/month billed yearly
Localo is a local SEO tool for Google Business Profiles that also gathers reviews and offers smart reply templates and a brand voice profile, from $39 a month billed yearly with a 14 day trial Localo pricing ↗. Its pricing page does not say which plan includes AI written replies, and it shows conflicting discount figures Localo pricing ↗.
NiceJob AI Review Response GeneratorFree
NiceJob's free AI review response generator writes a reply in the tone and length you choose, but stops after five free generations and does not post for you NiceJob free tool ↗. It is handy for an occasional tough review, not for daily use.
